Blazers' Martell Webster has irregular heartbeat

The NBA team announced Webster's condition early Friday evening.

Prior to Thursday night's game with the Houston Rockets, the 21-year-old Webster experienced flu-like symptoms and dizziness. He was taken to a local hospital where he stayed overnight for observation. Further testing on Friday revealed the irregular heartbeat.

Webster is out of the hospital and will see the team's cardiologist early next week. He will miss Sunday's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The Houston Rockets beat the Blazers 95-86. It was the fourth straight loss for Portland (38-38), which has gone 10-18 after a 28-20 start. The Blazers must win at least four of their remaining six games — starting Sunday at home against San Antonio — to secure the first winning record for the organization in five years.
